This database contains information about suppression orders - court decisions "suppressing" evidence when that evidence was obtained through improper police conduct. Such suppression orders often establish that an officer has acted improperly and violated the law.

The information collected here has largely been submitted by attorneys who were involved with these cases or others with first-hand information about the orders.

  • The database can be sorted, filtered, or grouped by field (ex: last name of officer, police department, or State)

  • To review all of the fields in the database, use the scroll bar at the bottom of the database

  • The database can also be downloaded, or viewed in a "larger version," using the links in the bottom right-hand corner of the page

  • To see only results relevant to your search, we recommend using the "filter" function

The Project seeks to verify all information submitted and contained in the database. When the accuracy of submitted information has been verified, the Project will include a notation along with that information in the corresponding column, "Has this information been verified." If the information cannot be verified, it will be deleted.
